2013 Kia Sportage XS Review – A Perfect Family Car

As you know, I am back from a nice long vacation in sunny California!

While we were visiting we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to drive a 2013 Kia Sportage XS.

Let me tell you, we should have been filming a commercial.  We took that thing for a real test drive!  We covered everything from day to day running around, LA traffic, freeway driving, all the up to winding up hairpin turns and avoiding rocks in the road while trekking up to Mt. Baldy to see some snow!

Short and sweet:  I LOVE the Sportage!  My kids agree – they want to know when I am trading mine in for the “new” one!

Before I get into all the techy stuff.. let me tell you about it from a “mom’s” point of view – here is why I LOVE it:

1.  It looks very cool (yes-looks matter to me) I love the sleek lines and dual moonroofs!

2.  It has a ton of room for the whole family – the kids had lots of room to themselves with extra space for all of their “stuff”

3.  Easy to drive – although it is a “crossover” it feels like you are driving a car. Smooth and easy to maneuver.

4.  Safe – Tons of safety features which you can see in detail at the Kia website.  5 stars by NADA in all categories except a 4 star in rollover.  Still very good!

5.   Economical – The price is very affordable for all that you are getting out of the rig.   The gas mileage is also excellent with an estimated 21-28 MPG.  Awesome!

6.  It’s comfortable – Like I said, we took this car everywhere, and nobody ever complained about the ride.

Is that enough to convince you?  Well- let me give you more “details”.

Of course you can head over to the Kia Motors Website and get the full specs and “build your own” to get an estimate at any time!

Now… the all important question.  Just HOW AFFORDABLE is it?  Well with the base model starting at $19,000 and the SX starting at $26,900 it is VERY affordable.  For my next car, I would seriously consider buying this car!

Disclaimer: I was given this car at no charge to drive and provide a thorough review
