Ginger SNAP Cocktail

Have you ever had a cocktail with Ginger in it? Ginger Beer or Ginger Cider?  I have recently become obsessed with the flavor of ginger as it pairs so well with so many fruity flavors.  Not long ago, my sister actually purchased a Ginger Vodka that we made a few mixed drinks out of and it got me to thinking that it would be great to use the real thing.  So, that is how the Ginger SNAP Cocktail was born.  The fresh Ginger gives the drink a “Snap” or a little kick!  Hope you like it as much as I did… and this basic recipe can be added upon in a bazillion different ways.

Ginger SNAP Cocktail
Serves 1
A refreshing summer drink with a "snap" of Ginger.

Ingredients
  1. 4 oz. Citrus Vodka
  2. 1 Lime (juiced0
  3. about 1 tsp grated ginger or thinly sliced ginger
  4. *Optional: 4 oz. Diet 7-Up
  5. Ice
Instructions
  1. Mix Vodka and Lime Juice.
  2. Add Ginger (grated if you like the bits in the drink, sliced if you want to pull them out)
  3. Let sit for at least 20 minutes to let flavor of ginger come out into drink.
  4. Add Diet 7-up as needed if drink is too strong for your tastes.
  5. Serve over ice.
Notes
  1. The long it sits, the stronger the ginger flavor will be. To help move it along, muddle the ginger as well. Try adding different berries to mix up the flavor!
