Vegan Chocolate Avocado Pudding

Ok, so I have seen a gazillion recipes for Chocolate Avocado Pudding and I FINALLY jumped on the bandwagon and gave it a whirl.  The basics seem to be similar in all the recipes I looked at so I decided to kind of wing it and see how it turned out.  Well, honestly, it turned out better than I had thought for my taste buds… my kids disagreed.  My oldest said it tasted like asparagus??? Confusing because I don’t think she has ever eaten asparagus in her life!  Once the younger one saw her reaction, she refused to even taste it, lol.  The cousin next door said it tasted “different” —not bad mind you — just “different”.

My conclusion is that if you love Avocados as I do, then you will most likely like this recipe.  If you are not a fan… then please don’t make this and be disappointed it doesn’t taste just like Chocolate Pudding from a Box, lol!!

It does carry over some Avocado taste, but I actually really liked the flavor and thought it gave it a rich dark chocolate feel.

The only modification I may try next time is to bump up the vanilla syrup a tad and/or add some vanilla yogurt to smooth it up a bit more.  Check out my recipe and give it a go!

  1. I have almond miilk – I will give that a try. I’ve read so many recipes with using avacado as the base, but never tried any! But avacado’s are so full of all those healthy fats, I’m gonna give it a try!

This sound s delicious. I’ve made chocolate avocado ice cream, a vegan recipe, so very easy, I loved it, but you definitely realize that the taste is a bit different. Avocado does not overpower in flavor but it does have a bit of a different flavor. Using chocolate helps mask the avocado more than any other ingredient.

I’m going to try this maybe with coconut milk.

    Thanks for sharing.
